Vote for a new header!

April 9, 2010

UPDATE: The Piano has won the contest with 46% of the vote. It does look pretty good up there, doesn’t it. Thanks for all the votes! And to the contestants, better luck next year!

Here are some site headers I have been trying out to replace the “out to sea” one. Let us know which one you like best!

The piano

The accordion

The point

The turntable

Or there's the old one, Out to sea

If you’re a designer, send us your own design! Dimensions must be 920 x 180.

I vote for “The point” because that’s an awesome picture.
On one hand, it utterly fails to evoke loneliness, but on the other hand it succeeds in evoking awesome.

It is less lonely, but it is also neat.

We’ve also had a vote for the piano via facebook: I like the piano one. But I’m a sucker for forced perspective and depth of field. -Brian T. P.

The piano is my second favorite and more lonely alternative

My vote is for the accordion. I think the line quality alludes to our collective cultural iconography in profound ways.

Danny, I’m so glad someone finally brought CCI into the conversation. Our header should perpetuate and resonate with visual culture standards and the post-Kodak pixel regurgitation so pervasive in the tens.

There’s a poll up now! I already completed the votes cast. It’s currently a tie between the piano and the accordion. This poll will end April 13 at 11:30 a.m.
